Hi
I purchased a Norman 20 conquest with a Honda 15 outboard about 8 weeks ago. It still has its original gel coat on top but this needs patching in a few places. Does anyone know what the colour / ral colour code is so that I can get some paint that is a close match as I don't wnat to paint the whole boat.
Thanks

I don't think you will get a paint code match.... it will have been originally the colour that came out of the can that morning...... since then it has undergone many years of harsh UV light and will have altered from all recognition from the original colour.

Painting part of a GRP boat will not work. Its all or nothing.... It is always a better plan to try to recover the GRP with compounding or a good repair. Once you paint, you will have to re-paint..... and again.....

Plastic padding also do a gelcoat filler that is useful for small dints and scrapes. Like already said, don't paint it!

Gelcoat filler is very white, your boat will have yellowed over the years, you can get spare hardner that's yellow that helps take the edge off the white, get the wrong hardner and it will be red though.
