I've only gone as far as Gargrave on the Leeds & Liverpool. It can be a bit hairy from kids out of Leeds until you reach Rodley but the BW chaps advise on timings etc. Its a very attractive rune with many tempting stopping places such as Bingley, Saltaire and Skipton. There is a lovely long lock free stretch above Skipton. Don't forget you also get to do one of the seven wonders of the waterways traversing Bingley 3 and 5 rise.
I remember Bingley , Saltaire & Skipton very well from the trip of my youth with Dad (Skipton had the most wonderful lard cook chips!)
Its a trip I would like to repeat as it wasnt the best for us (Grandad died while we were away)
To be fair looking back we had rotten luck boating as a kid - I lost my Grandad on one trip & my stepmum (Whilst aboard) on another (heading towards london). I'm surpised Dad resumed boating considering !
