You'll probably want to lacquer it after as it won't last 5 minutes but then neither will the lacquer if it is subject to any wear. If it is deck fittings a coat of oil is as good as anything and easy to wipe on - cleats and bollards are working fittings so nothing on bronze is going to keep it shiny apart from daily polishing.So you'll need to give up your job and live on the boat so you can constantly attend the bright work like the old time sailors used to do.
Me - I'd stick 'em on the wall at home as a decoration and fit nice stainless fittings because if I polish them today and go home for the week and come back to my boat a week later I'll want to use the boat, not polish deck fittings first! They are unsuitable for pleasure craft not in continuous use because if you want them to stay bright it is not going to happen.
The cost of boating is insignificant compared to costs of a young wife and two teenage kids!
