Waiting at torksey for the flood before we can get in, just had to visit the white swan for sunday lunch and a few beers, I'm now officially fat!(and very slightly drunk)
I would recommend the muskham ferry, the bromley arms, riverside at farndon was ok but I'm assured the rose and crown in the village is much better,the unicorn at gunthorpe and ferry boat at stoke bardolph are ok for food but don't expect to drink late
Now to see what other pubs the witham has to offer...

As you sail up the Fossway from torksey I think the first one you will come to at Saxilby. I've not frequented them but just across the road I think the Sun Inn is popular and there's mooring just over the foot bridge. Then as you get nearer Lincoln there's the Pyewipe Inn expensive but popular with boaters and then after that there is a pub 5 mins walk from Burton Marina which has Marston's and 2 meals for the price of one not bad at all. At the marina is also a excellent Chinese with a good selection for £11.95 per head but the beer nothing special. In Lincoln at the far end of the Brayford pool is William IV very good and very popular in summer with everyone. You can also moore up right in the middle of the city. Depends when you are passing through Lincoln I could probably get out a meet you for a pint.
If you have time there's lots of History in Lincoln to see and some good shopping 5 mins walk from the brayford pool and your on the high street and a tesco express within easy distance if you need one

In saxilby the sun has cheap beer but was desolate, the anglers in the village was very busy and seemed very friendly but not cheap, will probably stop for a pint in the witch and wardrobe on the way through lincoln today and maybe end up at bardney, depends who does food on a monday night as it can be a problem a lot of places.
Looks like friday will be the day to get back over the wash going by wind forecasts.

Witch & wardrobe food and beer prices have to be recommended, nags head at bardney great as always, riverside at southrey on part time hours but kings arms and railway inn at kirkstead bridge good (kings arms for food), royal oak at tattershal bridge very friendly, unfortunately all this research has got us very pissed so need snooze and chocolate hobnobs before doing research on the packet in at dogdyke, already moored there at the ready and the euro fghters are damn loud!

I have a piccie of beer If people want to know about the trip it's the perfect excuse for people to do it themselves
Pub t langrick bridge currently closed, pub at antons gowt seems ok (the malcolm arms  worrying or what?), was going to head back there tonight after nipping into boston for supplies (cream cakes, still have plenty of beer) but found problems manouvering at boston moorings, one of the steering ball joints has decided to be a 2 piece unit instead of a solid one, naturally it's one that still has reverse, a little engineering place near the marina is going to see if he can bodge fix it up tommorow with a bit of bolt welded on, otherwise I'll swap the steering arms over and try and lash the non reversing one straight for the sea tripand just steer on the one, as long as it gets propulsion it'll be ok.
All good fun...

Apparenty lots of business's have been raided around here lately for counterfeit vodka sales, it would seem the source has shown itself by accident, we had to visit 3 pubs to fnd out this info so I hope you all appreciate our selfless act of intelligence gathering!
Steering fixed (ish) by local bodging shop, he charged me a fiver!! So I gave him a tenner, nobody does anything for a fiver these days FFS! I just hope his welding is ok...

I can describe boston is 2 words, fat & polish, sorry 3, fat & polish & drunk! I've never seen so many people wandering around a town before noon clutching eastern european beer cans, makes us feel teetotal, now thats scary!

Well I've known Dave to be Fat & Drunk , but never known him to Polish anything....
Ahhhhh.. POLISH !!! , Yes well known in Boston , last time we came thru Stamp End everyone had an eastern European accent & a spinning rod !
Reminds me of a trip recently to Morrisons - A local said Polish Bread ? Why do they call it that , its not even shiny ! I have to say I had trouble keeping quiet !
Not seen the sea lock at Boston Dave so a pic would be nice

On the subject of polish they say you can't polish a turd, so how come I have a shiny head????
I have some piccies of grand sluice and loads of piccies of the tidal bit at low water, it seems we hit a pile of random debris chucked from a bridge on the way in and not a wreck at all, the bike has since been washed away!
I recon the steering joint was probably cracked at the same time the reversing catch went but hung on for the week.
