Have an option on a 20' Norman but I need to collect/store on a trailer. What would members suggest as the best make/model to suit my needs?

At least 750 kg (1000kg better)and 20 feet capacity, keel roller support for a deep-Vee hull with side bunks or rollers. Preferably a 2-speed winch although you can always change that. Most important - 50mm hitch for standard tow ball. It must be braked and have over-run braking and twin axle is de rigeur for a boat the size of the Norman. Why the extra capacity - because you'll be towing it almost certainly in cruise-readiness mode, so fuel, water, gas, batteries, stores, engine (s) all on ready for launch and go.
Next thing is what are you going to tow it with? I've always in the past with a stern-drive/inboard Norman 20 towed on a twin axle trailer hauled with a Land-rover or a Pajero (Mitsubishi Shogun type) because a tonne on the back will be more than your Fiesta can handle never mind the legal aspects.
Make of trailer - any that have the specs and aren't rusted through, galvanised far superior to painted, many makes about - Bramber, Snipe, SBS etc but also loads of small companies manufacturing. But expect to pay close to £1000 and up for a good second-hand one and much much more than you paid for the boat probably for a new one. You will need a lighting board with an extension cable as standard ones are no where near long enough, and a breakaway chain fitted too.
Finally - read up on what you can legally drive and tow.

Hi Mike.
My boat's a Norman 20 with a Honda 15 hp outboard and it's on a Snipe Breakback, braked trailer with keel rollers and bunks, and it's rated for 1000 kg. It's a single axle which makes it easier when reversing it. We tow it with our diesel Ford Focus estate and try to carry as little as possible inside the boat. As Clive said, checkout the laws regarding towing a trailer, and check your vehicle's V5 to find out it's towing weight limit.
As for prices, I got mine for £600 on the condition that I took the boat with it! I've seen the same second-hand trailers for sale at over £1000 without the free boat.
