Winter has finally arrived - long may it last.
Yesterday was a chilly day - I wore my fleece jacket zipped up.
It was 29 C
Today is even colder - 27.5 C.
Turned off the aircon in the lorry when we went out.
Wearing a shirt in the house.
We don't have any heating, or a hot water system, showers with water at ambient are a shivering shocking affair!
Feeling rather cool - defo acclimatised to the tropical temperatures here.
Finally living the dream!

I think you're going soft. When you're next in these parts, have a trip up the Huddersfield Narrow with frost sparkling on the towpath, and a cold wind making your eyes water. I'm glad I fitted a diesel heater to my little Norman. |

You really know how to cheer us up don't you Clive! Roll on spring, and open pubs!

We wouldn't get up the Huddersfield Narrow or any other narrow, but frost? At anchor one frosty morning around this time of year probably, warming up the engine as the steam shows. I used a little inflatable to paddle round for the pictures so as not to wake 'em all up dropping the dinghy off the davits aft.
Inside wife and kids were still tucked up, 3 cabins with ducted hot air from an Eberspacher keeping it toasty. Shower room with hot and cold - we really suffered!

Hey Dave, you got all the Broads for Winter boating (about in muck lol) or go look at the seals outside if its not blowing up - the sea doesn't freeze does it and you got a diesel heater too haven't you.
Unless you have already had yours hauled and winterised?
To be fair we used to winterise ours around about now, take a generator and a compressor down, drain out, blow out all pipe work with compressed air, run anti-freeze down the sea-cocks (including the toilet) until it spat out the exhaust and so on and then sheet the bugger up stem to stern creating a sort of tunnel air could blow through for ventilation.
Winter mooring on the River Wey just off the Thames - cheap, flood proof, anchor off the bow in case scroats untied it (had happened before), forget it until the Spring - the lengthsman was on a live-aboard on the same trot - any probs he'd have called us!
Finally living the dream!
