Got this from Bob, I'm thinking it was probably just "white" and no more technical but does anyone know better?

I hope you don’t mind me asking but would you know what the RAL colour code would be for a white 1986ish Norman24 from your experience in maintaining boats. I need mix the colour in the gel otherwise and I am a bit new to this.

Thanks

Bob Davies

RAL usually refers to DuPont Powder Coating colours.

The RAL book has 4 versions of "white",

RAL 9010 Pure white would be the equivalent to a normal white gloss, i.e NOT a brilliant white.
RAL 9016 Traffic white - pretty much an appliance white or brilliant white
RAL 9018 Papyrus white - a very pale grey
RAL 1013 Oyster White - a very very slightly cream-tinted white.

Normans appeared in two colours - white and a beige colour. No idea what that beige might have been.

From memory I'd say the white is likely to be RAL 9010, not the stark appliance white RAL 9016.

Hope that helps.

Finally living the dream!
