Woohoo! As of 12.00 today it's playtime for 2 weeks, dog is going to see his doggy sitter friend and we go and do our bit for global warming somewhere around the broads and east coast, if you see a diesel tanker around send it my way!
If the weather plays fair it's ramsgate but it's not looking too hopeful at the moment, pubs galore are a certainty though.

Have fun matey. I've forwarded your message to the RNLI. I hope your regular donations are up to date.

We're hopefully on a somewhat smaller adventure tomorrow. We're going to see if our new little boat will float and stuff. I anticipate an hour or so on the water plus an unlimited amount of faffing with launch and recovery. I've never slipped a boat before. How hard can it be?

Made it to ramsgate, topped up fuel in shotley and done a quick calculation, 55 litres/hr!
Quit moaning about fuel consumption ditch crawlers!
May do a dover sight seeing trip tomorrow.

No independance needed, I choose my weather better!
Back in southwold again, seen dover close up and france hazily in the distance, thought I'd better call dover port control and tell them I was turning before the main ferry route before they called me to tell me to f**k o** (go away).
Took 4hrs 20mins back to southwold against the tide and sh**loads of diesel, don't worry about global warming but it should be 30 degrees this xmas, no need to say thanks just send cash.
May stop here till monday now.
I like ramsgate, loads of cheap pubs just avoid thorley taverns and the royal temple yacht club!
Ps sorry about the fridge...

Funnily enough were sat there now.
I think the total is around 700 litres of fuel used.

Some piccies!

Dover and some white cliffs, just needs some spitfires....

Zoom in close and you can see france behind the ferry.

This was a good pub.
Run by an ex fisherman and mostly decorated with bits he pulled up himself including the aircraft prop.
The Mariners Bar, Ramsgate.(good price beer too)

Not sure if this is a drug den or another name for the conservative club....

And of course the fridge....
The guy in the piccie said I'd understand if I met the trevor in question, I'll just take his word for it.

The view over the harbour at ramsgate, snowbird is lurking in this one.

And another over the harbour.
