Does anyone know if it is possible to get hold of the metal Norman badges for the side of the boat, these are the ones saying Norman and a Norman crusader at the end ?

I looked for one a while back and didn’t get anywhere, you can get them custom made but it ain’t cheap!

That’s an idea. Did you get some made? I would be interested to know the cost.

There are old posts on the forum from a member whose father was making them on a limited basis but this was years ago.
In the meantime if anyone does know the cost of having some made, I too would be interested.

You would need an old badge for a pattern then find some one who casts aluminum

Adi was the man with the patterns and did the casting with his dad, if all else fails I know someone that does a bit of ali casting but you would need one as a pattern and I don't know how busy he is.

Does any one have a photo of a badge. If they cannot be made in aluminum we could look at being made in plastic which is better than nothing

Does anyone on here have a 3d printer? Preferably one with a scanner.
I'm sure they would be an easy one to do once scanned in as long as they paint ok.

The guy I work with is game to have a go but he would need decent badges to start with to make the mould, without it's a complete non starter, I would imagine a mould made from a previously home cast one would come out pretty rough as it would be minor imperfections on top of minor imperfections resulting in a multiplied crap finish.
Nothing is guaranteed as it would be a try out to start with.

I took some photos of a badge I spotted on a cruiser a couple of weeks ago, not really great quality though.
I'd thought of going down the 3D printer route but enquiries were met with lots of sharp intakes of breath.

Other option would be to take a plaster imprint of a good clean badge and fill with epoxy resin with aluminium powder mixed in, allow to cure and flatten the back off with a sheet of emery cloth on a flat surface, not as strong as ali but should come out good and fairly inexpensive.
All boils down to getting the good badges first.

Anybody willing to let their precious badges be used as a mould?
