Can't you organise a sinking or two? How about piracy on the Macclesfield? Arms smuggling and people-trafficking on the Llangollen?
Something must be happening surely Shirley?
It's Winter when everyone dreams impossible Springtime and Summer type dreams of implausible events on impractical trips and tries to cure leaky windows with bubble gum or otherwise fettles or destroys their boats while awaiting warmer weather.
Here we are suffering our Winter too, freezing overnight temperatures of 20C or less, only reaching 33C daytimes. The rains have eased off for a bit so skies remain blue with no cloud. Why, for 3 nights we didn't use the aircon - only a fan. Look how we suffer.
Went out and bought another motor-bike, goes like the proverbial off a shovel, downside is it was registered in another province and our province is within the Bangkok area even thought we live amongst farmland, so repeated trips into Metropolitan Bangkok to change registration, go back to pay tax, go back to swop number-plates to Bangkok ones.
Ok - not very exciting but the bike trips through Bangkok morning rush hour are terrifying to say the least.
So what are you lot up to? Hibernating?

Finally living the dream!

Most boaty forums tend to quieten down this time of year as folk get cabin fever! Won't be long before the snowdrops and crocus start to appear and folk will stir!

What sort of idiot would want to go boating this time of the year, oh I remember now we were on the boat last weekend and probably will be this weekend as well, that will be the type of idiot!

| Yeah, we were on ours last weekend too although I've spent most of the winter building a canal rather than boating on one. |

What canal were you working on Ian? Many years ago, like 45 or more, i belonged to the WRG - Waterways Recovery Group (North London Commando).
I worked on the Wey and Arun Northern Section mostly but also Southern Section, and the Basingstoke.

Cotswolds. And since my latest mid-life crisis last year it's my day job as well as a volunteer thing. I earn less, work harder and get cold and dirty most days but I'm loving it.
We're hosting WRG BiTM this weekend. We had London WRG last weekend. |
