This is not the original post which I deleted as postimage.org was taken down. It has since been put back up so I'm re-doing the post.

Various folk ask about posting pictures so here is one site and simple instructions to post pics.

This is where you can sign up simply:- https://postimage.io/

Follow the instructions to upload your pictures from your computer into an album you create once you've signed in. If you don't register you won't be able to find your pictures again.

To post on a forum click the "share" symbol and choose "Hotlink for forums

You'll get something like this except the real one has square [...]
brackets instead of curved because I changed them to show you

{url=https://postimage.org}{img)https://s19.postimg.org/k9jjmp3hv/DSCN1911.jpg(/img)(/url)(url=https://postimage.io/)imgurl(/url)

All you need to post a picture without all the "flannel" is that part (img)........................(img) leaving out the end and beginning so delete the rest or simply copy it. The brackets either side of the img are of course square.

So the part you paste or leave in your post look like this:-

{img)https://s19.postimg.org/k9jjmp3hv/DSCN1911.jpg(/img)

With the square brackets you get the picture, in this case my son trying not to kiss a giraffe.

Didn't lose the plot Dave, this morning (my morning, you lot still snoring) the site was down, all my posted images and avatar were gone, everywhere, and the site was reported down on http://www.websitedown.info/ plus google had the link with a message that they were in financial trouble and were pulling out and closing down.

So I blanked my post so as not to mislead, posted to explain, and later started to set up another host when suddenly my avatar reappeared.

Did the checks again and the site was/is back up, they were bailed out financially and posted on their blog to that effect. Plus they've now been hosted elsewhere at far better rates and given image software for free.

So all good now. Thanks for the deletes though.

I use tinypic.com now, because it's free, easy, requires no login and gives you a number of links to your new pic in different formats for various forums, including this one.

This one is the same - and user-friendly. Didn't want to change Ian, changed from Photo-bucket to Postimage and it's a time-consuming hassle! I'm glad they sorted out their problems.
