Need to get a set of glo plugs for my 1.5 lump and don't really want to pay the "Chandlers marine premium" unless I have to. What is likely to be the best source??

Any motor factors or maybe even ebay, I got a couple of sets for my old puggit lumps for a good price off ebay.
Get the engine hot before you try to remove as it should make it a bit easier, when out insert a drill bit (by hand) and twist to remove any carbon that may have built up around them and use a bit of copper grease on the threads when refitting.
Don't ever buy run of the mill stuff like that from a chandler....

I had a 1.8 Thorneycroft in my Ocean 30 and bought my spares from THorneycroft who were very cheap indeed. As the engines are essentially marinised BMC's they kept glowplugs in stock. They also did service exchanges on injectors very reasonably and their mail-order service was good. Not sure if they are still doing spares - you could try calling Mike Bamford on 01772 611144. The web site was/is down.

Alternatively, google either ASAP supplies of contact Mike at Lancing Marine who also kept spares for those engines, or from Calcutt Marine.
if you have no luck elsewhere.

Finally living the dream!

Have you tested the glow plugs to see if they are working before you buy a new set
