Hello All,

I have a simple question. My Norman has a Mariner 15 four stroke outboard and I don't have the right size spanner for the spark plugs. They are labelled as DPR6EA (with the number 9 underneath), so, are they a standard size (as on a car) or slightly smaller? Anyway, are spark plugs in general a standard size? To be honest, I have never put my mind to it.

Thanks.

Sal

I think they are 16mm (5/8") across the flats on those sort of plugs, probably 10mm or 12mm threads, old school car engines were generally 18mm threads using 13/16" sockets, modern cars tend to use the smaller sizes as do modern bikes.

I'm sure I have at least three different sizes of spark plug socket. The one I want is always the third one I try.

I think that 16 mm might be right. As i said, the plugs, from the outside, look smaller than the car plugs I'm used to (I'm still living in the 1960-70s. Thanks

The one I want is normally the one in the box I've not bought with me.
