Bertie is almost ready for anti foulling but I'm beginning to wonder if I should add more fibre glass to the repair first. I've put 3 sheets on the outside of the hole and 3 on the inside, is this enough?

Is the repair as thick as the surrounding original grp? If thicker it'll probably be fine, if thinner then keep adding till it's thicker.
Make sure there's no glass fibres showing through the outside or it will wick water into the layup and cause osmosis/delamination, have you epoxied the outside?

Even if it was the old 1 ounce mat, 6 layers are more than enough on a hole of limited girth. They built cruisers with that lay-up!

Bigger the panel - heavier the lay-up needs to be, your little patches are more than strong enough.

Don't worry Jo. Like Dave reminded you and as I told you earlier - make sure you give the outside of the repair a coat of resin before assuming it is complete so that no water can soak up the fibres.

I think it's Clive. Unless you are talking about the elephant.

Assuming it's not the elephant, and it certainly isn't me, then it's my gorgeous wife Arisa, We've been married for 5 years now, came to the UK for 3 years, now gone back to Thailand.

She's a bit younger than me, well, 38 years actually, but I'm closing the gap haha. And she is my best friend too.
