Had our N23 for 3 years. It had a new canopy about a year before we bought her. It fitted perfectly then but has been getting harder and harder to fasten it. It's getting to the point of us being reluctant to go out in her because of the struggle to put the hood back up!
The cover appears to be black canvas with a cream vinyl type coating on the inside.
It's in too good a condition to replace. Apart from moving the "lift the dot" fasteners can anyone suggest anything?

This time next year.....

Is the metal frame adjustable?

Not really. The pivot point is fixed. About a year ago I did shorten the height of the tube by about 20mm which did ease it slightly but now we are back to square one again.

I've not heard of significant shrinkage - I was going to suggest making a TINY adjustment to the frame pivot, nowhere near 20mm!

As it is a fairly(!) recent canopy it might be worth a call to the supplier to ask advice. Failing that then shortening the tube again is probably the easier option compared with moving all those fasteners.

Thanks Ian, unfortunately the supplier (The Cover Co 0161 270 4869) appears to have ceased trading . There is a similar name The Cover Company but they do car covers and different phone number.
Time to get the hacksaw out again!

From another angle, due to the heavy rains that we've had over the year, my cockpit canopy has actually stretched! There used to be an insubstantial accumulation of water in a puddle that would quickly evaporate, but now the water accumulation has become a bit too much. I don't really know what to do about it.

I have a canvas canopy and that shrinks too, I had a hell of a job to get it back up today after running with it down for the last 4 days, on mine it is a row of turnbuckle type fasteners that all get closer, the first 3 are fine but then they get progressively harder to do up, a quick spray with water helped today.

Been out of touch for a week! Thanks for your replies. I like the idea of swapping covers with the saggy one I've had an idea of fitting sliding rails to the pivot point so when putting the cover up I can first slide the pivots forward, fasten the cover over the windscreen and then push the pivots back. If I remember my geometry lessons correctly this might do it
