Well if the weather goes to crap over the next 2 weeks you can blame me as we're off on the boat again as of tomorrow afternoon, heading south out of gt.yarmouth this time hopefully via southwold/woodbridge/shotley/bradwell before heading back up to the broads.

Not going up the Blackwater to Malden then Dave? Used to be some lovely old boats kicking around up there. I mean old, really old!

Did maldon last time we went down that way, spent the night sat on the mud with some horrible smells coming up through the sea toilet from the mud....
May go into heybridge basin this time round, may do orford on the way back up as it's a lovely spot (and I like the kings head)but it's a pain having to use the dinghy to get ashore with the dog when he needs emptying, last time we did orford we had an impromptu 8 piece swedish ukulele band start up in the pub, there had been a ukulele festival nearby and the just wanted to play in an english pub before they went home, good night it was with everything from tina turner to motorhead being played surprisingly well.

You say that like it's a good thing.
At least it wasn't a 9 piece swedish ukulele band.

Now here's a view you shouldn't have through the screen at 18knots...

Going by the picture angle port helm is already on and course set fair to pass astern.

You'll be getting a lot closer in the Solent! They coming hacking out of Southampton Water heading East to avoid Cowes Roads, container ships at speed leave an interesting wake for small craft!

It was actually anchored but the wind makes it look to be moving by the exhaust smoke, first time southwold has had a cruise ship visit and it was mayhem, but fun.

Video of us leaving Portsmouth Harbour a couple of years ago in an old Shakespeare speedboat we bought cheap because it had a hole in the bottom. Glassed in we used it for weekend fun for a bit, then it was sold and exported to Thailand of all places. We followed it a few weeks later!
