So I've taken the large side window out. It was rather leaky, covered in silicone and the centre fixed part of it had a temporary piece of perspex in it that was the main contributor to leaky problem. I've managed to get a laminated piece of glass to replace it (I know I should have got a toughened one, but time and money were the main factor in this decision) Yesterday I cleaned the frame, fitted the sections of glass back into the frame (1 fixed and 4 sliding ones) and was about to have a go at fitting it when a couple of the blokes in the boat yard mentioned that they thought there should be something between the aluminium frame and sliding glass partitions to prevent rattle and further leaks. Any idea what i should put in there?

Hopefully someone will be along that can explain the fuzzy, felt "U" shaped lining for the channel better than I can!

Use rubber U channel for the fixed sections and flocked rubber for the sliders, the flocked stuff looks to be flat when you buy it but forms a good U when put in, make sure you cut some holes in it where the drains in the frame are otherwise it will still leak inside (they will always leak but are designed to leak to outside)and glue so the holes stay lined up. Looks like you're doing a grand job! Can you change your piccie to something less scary to us little blokes.....

What did you have in mind then Dave? A floral pink bikini with matching hat and carrying a machete?

I agree about changing the picture. When you get to my age they give you nightmares. Bob |

Are you offering a loan then Clive? She'll have to find her own machete though.

That's less scary! Just can't get the image of Clive in the pink bikini out of my head now, it's horrible!

Fitvit:
We were teasing you - the dustbin liner pic was lovely - really! (Runs for cover!)

Dave/Ian - you're just jealous LOL Elephant can pick up peanuts yes, but has grown out of pink bikini. We just paint it and hope no-one notices!
I got totally soaked - could have done with a pink bikini myself! Great fun though. Location was Ayuthaya, North of Bangkok on Sonkran a few weeks ago. (Sorry for Fred Drift).
