Hi,Before I start id like to thank you for both the old and the new forum for help and advice plus dos and donts for the beginners like me. Comments in 2003 are still relevant in 2015. Im 66 next month took the plunge and got a Norman 27 that needs some tlc. Its basically sound with a BSS until 2018, a good Honda, and a recent Rinaii water heater. Im on the aire and calder at Great Heck with the SYBC. (sound move). I posted for advice ref my rear cabin but managed to sort it by fitting a clik- clak sofa bed . Next prob to overcome is the cold water to the 2 sinks. I get pumped water via the gas heater but cannot twig the cold bit. Ive put 5 gallons in the holding tanks and done a tap dance on the little bellows on the the floor but to no avail in the galley, the rear cabin sink is still a mystery. Is it a standard Norman set up and has something come adrift. Regards Phil Hunt.

If you get pumped water to the water heater then you should take or have a feed of cold water from the electric pump to cold water tap. You should not have to do any tap dancing. When you open the cold tap or demand hot water the pump kicks in and supplies pressure to both.

have a look at

you have a heater instead of the calorifier.

Thanks Lester for your advice. What id got wrong was when I switched the pump on I thought I could hear gas coming through the Rinaii without it being switched on, so I switched things off sharpish. In fact the noise I was hearing was the water coming through the pipes. The rear sink isn't working because I pulled the wire from its pump whilst rummaging under the cockpit. (easy fix - I hope). Inshalla ill have hot and cold to both shortly. Thanks again, Phil

You should take precautions for the heater at this time of year, they burst easily with the cold. Some people remove over winter or at least drain and blow down the pipes.

I drain the whole system for winterising.
