Hi,on seeing the toilet cupboard,my first reaction was bloody hell.
Has any one done or thought about placing a toilet in a box on the front of the boat outside, and raising a camping toilet tent up when using and lowering when not.

Think by the time I had carried the toilet to front of boat, erected a tent over it I would need a clothes change.
On my 20 the bulk head door and toilet door made a compartment then left the Portapotti facing out. There is a knack to using it though, usually means a sentry on the door

My idea would be leaving the toilet, permanently in place at the front.

Sounds like a lot of hassle and a magnet for pee taking, use pubs for solids and pee in the river...

Foredeck,seems like a wasted space,ideal for hip bath,next to toilet,the luxury.

Another problem would be shimmying to the front of the boat in the night and would need a light of some sort in it giving anyone around you a nice show through the tent material

Why would you possibly want to drive around, even on a canal, with a toilet tent on the bow of, a Norman 20 was it???

The toilet door opens to 90 deg, so go in, shut cabin door and do your stuff. The boat is hardly big enough for a crowd so who is to peek at you?

I've had 20's and no problem at all unless your guests are kinky!

Of course, a la Michael Green (the Art of Coarse Sailing) you could emulate Beaver, cut a hatch in your foredeck and put the loo under the hole. THen you could sit on the loo, head and shoulders outside and survey the passing world and hold conversations with passers-bye!

The cost of boating is insignificant compared to costs of a young wife and two teenage kids!

He,he,
Mr Clive, the tent would only be raised, when needed, keeping the cabin smelling fresh and clean.
