When I bought my N23, the previous owner told me that he always removed the Original-Build cooker from the boat for his BSS tests as it did not have a flame failure device, and was therefore non-compliant. I believe he was mis-informed, because I think that Original-Build equipment does not have to comply. Is that right?
However, I am in the process of installing a new cooker (with flame-failure devices). I have replaced all the copper tube, replaced the Regulator and LP hose from the Gas Bottle on the transom, and installed an easily accessible isolator and a leak-detection fitting.
However I am unsure about the use of flexible hose to make the final connection to the cooker. Is it mandatory or "permissible" to have flexible hose, or can it be completely hard-plumbed, as I have done? The Inspector will have access to all the fittings.
If anyone would like the Original Cooker (unused by me), then it is available. Please email me.
