Hi All

Just a quick hello from us. We've just purchased a Norman 24 and as TOTAL novices to boat ownership in general we may well be asking some very silly questions in the near future. Please be patient with us :-)
Trevor, I'm the gent that was moored next to you at Ranworth last week. A very impressive looking boat Crackers is may I say. It was a pleasure to meet you :-)

Cheers
Steve & Deb

Thank you Guys. We will be out on her again next weekend. Trying to work out a good, but more importantly safe, way to heat the boat.
Any ideas much appreciated

Steve

Can't beat eberspacher/webasto for boat heating, mount heater unit out in the cockpit and duct the air through to the cabin to keep the noise down.
As you have diesel inboard don't even consider the gas powered propex heaters, your fuel tank is too convenient.
Even the small 2kw units will roast a 24' boat, add the right box to the wiring and you can turn it on by phoning it too which is fantastic for switching on half hour before leaving te pub.

Hi, Steveanddeb.
We've got an Eberspacher D2 air heater for sale. If you're interested we're open to offers.
Jud.

Welcome from a fellow novice. I joined just two weeks ago and these guys have been really helpful.

Ours is returning to the north (West Yorkshire) in early February. Thanks for asking the heater question. I'd been wondering about the oil filled electric radiators.

All the best

Btw How do you post photos?

Hi Binker.

I created a photobucket account and used the link that they supply when you view your photos. Copy and paste into your message and it works

As far as heaters go we will have either an eberspacher or webasto unit fitted next year, the price of these units has meant we can't do it before.
Good luck with the move up north and more importantly get out on the rivers as much as you can

Cheers
Steve

Correctly installed they are great on a petrol boat.

I know of many petrol Freeman cruisers with them fitted.

The only downside is they are quite heavy on gas for anything other than occasional use. Leisure use is OK, just not economic for live aboards.
