Hi All,
I'm just about to buy what I'm pretty sure is a Norman 20.
It wants quite a lot of work doing to it which is fine but the one thing I'm struggling with is the missing windscreen and frame.
I spoke to a very helpful man at Coverit Canopies who gave me the details of a firm called Clearview Enterprises based in Worcester as someone who had made a Norman 20 windscreen frame for him before.
I've been ringing them everyday for over a week and have left messages but all to no avail.
Does anybody know of them? Whether they are still in business or any other ideas as to where I can buy a new windscreen frame from.
Many thanks for any help offered.
This is the boat in question

That is indeed a norman, a tape measure would be needed to confirm wether 20 or 18.5, usually it's the screen that gives it away.

Hi Fred
There are several threads on this forum for new alloy windows with a possible supplier given as Kellet windows in Halifax web page kellettwindows.co.uk Phone 01132639041 Don,t know if they can make a windscreen, but they may know someone who can. Good luck.

I've just rung Kellet windows and while they can supply all of the windows they don't do the front screen frame. Another very helpful lady on the phone though.
The search will continue. |

Well I'm drawing a big blank on trying to trace a replacement windscreen frame. Would any of you 20 owners be able to give me any measurements, height etc so I could make one myself out of hardwood. I need it to be the same size as the original so I can usea standard canopy from coverit. |

Where are you based ? Try Eagle Windows (Burnley). They do a lot of work on all sorts of Cruiser windows, you might get lucky.

Thanks. I've tried Eagle. They do windows but not windscreens.
The same goes for Wesley marine windows and Caldwells.
Houdini marine could make one but loosely quoted 1200 to 1800!!!
Robert at Eagle told me of another company called C & J International but they've been on answer phone all day.
New 20 owner with many questions as I try a rebuild. |

Had a couple of replies to emails I sent about making the screen but both are asking for measurements and templates etc.
I can make some templates quite easily from the boat itself but I really need to know the height of the front piece if anyone would be kind enough to measure it for me please.

Thanks Kev. I need it to be the same height as the original because I want to order a new standard canopy form coverit canopies without having to make alterations. I would've thought the height on the 20 and the 23 would be same though. If you can let me know the measurement I'd be grateful. Also, if you could let me know how wide and how thick the aluminium frame is I'd really appreciate it |

The measurement you need is 480mm high. It is 16mm thick. It tapers from 720mm at the bottom to 615mm at the top. I currently have my frames out for re-glazing. It's a shame you don't live in the north west you could have a pattern. If you want some photos I could email them to you |

Bear in mind that there are at least two types of windscreen for the 20.
There's the aluminium framed one:

And the GRP one:

I might be wrong, but the dimensions look different for each one. Mine has the GRP screen, I can measure that if you need it?
