I have the carburetor of my inboard
engine,as it keeps playing up.ive cleaned it but still giving me trouble.
Does any one know,wear i could send this to be serviced,thanks

Try Sheriden Marine. AKA - The Freeman Specialists.
That sounds like a Ford carb, they are Watermotor specialists.... as fitted to millions of Freeman cruisers.

| Aparently there is a company in Portsmouth that reconditins carbs. I will ask the mate who was considering sending his Ford/Watermoco carb there due to it not running at low revs. The need to send his away ended when I opened it up and blew through the ports & jets with a decent amount of compressed air. Runs a treat now! |

| Thanks for advice,phoned sheriden marine today,fully refurbished carb £250.so im going for a service kit at£27.50. and see how that goes,very helpfull people there. |

At the risk of making a really stupid comment, and I admit I am not well up on inboard petrol engines but. Ultimatly its a Ford carb off a car engine. Have you tried a good motor factors to see if you can get a replacement carb?
As soon as you mention marine (or motorsport) the price normally doubles even if its the same part.
Just a thought

Although it is a Ford carb, on what is essentially an Anglia/Cortina block. It is not the same carb as the car. It has a much different acceleration characteristic.
It is also a downdraught carb, I think the car versions were side draught. (A BSS fail)
