What size of winch will I need to fit on my boat trailer. The old one broke when we tried to recover the boat last time and I've no idea what to buy? Does it need to be ble to pull the full weight of the boat?

should'nt even need to pull the boat
on if the trailer has enought depth

a winch with a 1600kg pull will do most jobs

Mine is the webbing kind and says working strain 650kg, breaking strain 1500kg on it, seems rugged enough to pull my 20 out of the water ok. Takes some stick as my trailer is the carpeted bunked sides type and have to winch it the last 2-3 foot or so which drags the boat on the bunks.
