Haven't had my 23ft Norman long, but old battery gone dead. Have recharged it but still will not turn Honda8 outboard. The Honda motor worked fine before but we ran the battery down. What's the best battery to buy? And from where? Thanks for your help

You really don't need anything special top start an outboard - in fact most motorcycle batteries could do that, but as you do need some capacity for lights etc I suggest any cheap car battery would be more than ample. Do bear in mind your outboard will normally give you about 8 amps charging although some manage 15 amps so not world shaking by any means.

I buy car batteries from either of these online because they deliver:

85ah from any diesel car would be more than enough.

The cost of boating is insignificant compared to costs of a young wife and two teenage kids!
