Evening everyone, i wonder if anyone can help.
Went to go out for my first spin in the 23 after recently buying it and it being in a temp mooring due to bad conditions for the last few weeks, cast off, put in gear.....nothing, kept trying....nothing, moored up again, lifted engine..propeller not on, looks like some ##stard had taken the split pin out, unscrew the dome and taken the propeller and the dome, no way it could have come off as I haven’t been anywhere, guy said this happens al lot, people nick them for scrap, anyone else heard this?
My outboard is a old (don’t know how old) Honda 100 10hp, anyone know what type of propeller goes on it, don’t even know how many blades it has, really, really ##ssed off now, still can’t use the boat and now have to fork out for a new propeller.

Bill Higham is a bit pricy. For a new pattern prop I recommend you try here:

They do pattern ones with a removable boss so if either the rubber goes or you dong the prop it is no longer so expensive to replace. Compared to originals they are not expensive at all and I really do advise new - you have no idea how old the ebay one is and in what condition the boss is in. A new prop will cost you little more than a second hand one.
The cost of boating is insignificant compared to costs of a young wife and two teenage kids! |

Not bought a new one myself but can thoroughly recommend Streamlined propellers.
I always send mine to them for reconditioning, thry`re proper miracle workers. |

You ought to see the little old man who works there, like a little old gnome ha ha, plus see the state of the place he works in. You can hardly get in the door for props, bits, heaps of stuff everywhere and it's hard to find enough floor to walk on. Everything is covered with a thick layer of black dust from the fettling work.
Yet he is a real craftsman with props, some he can hardly lift they are so big, being the big ocean cruising boats props, but he does those, and outboards and also racing props which are a real art form. I don't know what Streamline will ever do if he quits - he is a magician with props.
But he also sells pattern props with separate centre bosses for most outboards and they are a real improvement on manufacturers original designs.
The cost of boating is insignificant compared to costs of a young wife and two teenage kids! |

| Cheers people, I have contacted Jeff at Streamline, and he has a used/refurbished one for £35 cash if I collect, can't pick it up 'till sunday evening though and he dosen't have the screw down dome, so will have to get one from local marina, £10 odd, still can't believe anyone would steel it, unbelivable!! |
