The Trent anchorage about 8 cables past the Apex towards the west bank is now prohibited. The shipping channel passes close in to the West bank and lights are established on the West bank to mark this channel.
Best refer to the latest ABP bi.monthly Barton Haven to Burton Stather if planing a Tidal Trent passage. Rgds.

Is the anchorage in the old channel to the east now then?
Not that it'll make much difference to me this year as we're heading for the broads if the river ever gets low enough...

Good Day DF.

No anchorage on the east side. Drying heights abound on this side now and some barges go and take the ground to wait the tide.

I've anchored a few times inside Whitton Ils. waiting for the tide. Well clear of the commercial stuff in here.

Brings home the importance of obtaining latest ABP charts as the channels move considerably in this area.
