| Perhaps it is because we have not owned our little boat for very long but not being able to be out and about given a frozen Grand Union seems to add to the depression which this time of year always brings. How do others feel? Light hearted responses very welcome. |

I'm envious. I wish my driveway was big enough. I frequently find myself without the tool I need and the notion of just being able to pop indoors to get it or to seek out an extra pair of hands to "hold this" - bliss!

went out for four hours with my son fishing and messing about yesterday,did not see another motor boat moving, some rowers going through there paces, flasks of tea, muligawtawny soup, sandwiches,love it whenthe river quiet.........
i know how you feel our boat was new to us aout 16 months ago, could not wait to get out on the water,had it for 6 months at home before it was ready for the bsc test then river registration great when we finally got out on her, got the opposite problem at the moment waiting for the lock near to me to finish maintanence work , so we can get her through the lock and onto the trailer, then home so i can clean and foul the bottom and lots of other bits and bobs. |

News is the ice is melting at our marina so I hope, at least, to get on board at the weekend to do some work. |

Nice pictures, i do like the start of the season. Even though i do a bit of fishing it is good having the river without looking out for fishermen etc until June 15th or whenever the course fishing season starts.
Unfortunaltly around Evesham where i live it's a Mecca for fishing and todays poles reach half way across the river.
Went past one last year that left his rod unattended, he was feeder/ledgering on the bottom, by the time i saw his line it was too late and pulled the rod right off his rest and trawled it up the river for a while was expecting a load of line around the prop but was clear. |

Would it not of been easier to buy a new rod and reel from a shop? Oh I know this way was cheaper
