Hi Gang
need to replace the throttle cable on my norman 23, it has a ford 105e engine. the cable end at the carb end looks like a bike brake cable with the nipple end. I am assuming the other is just plain wire? I reckon its about 7-8 foot long. has anyone replaced theirs? and where can I get one? have looked on ebay, but they only 1.8 mtrs long. or is it a completly different cable? any help would do please.

Hi there, When I needed a cable for a similar application, a search in Yellow Pages showed a few specialist cable manufacturers. You could also contact Speedy Cables of London, tel. 01639 732213 who will make up cables to your pattern if you send them your old cable plus the connectors required. Hope that this helps.

If it is just bike brake cable, then any 'proper' bike repair shop will have it by the meter, just cut to length and solder the nipples on.

| If you don't have any luck there is a company not far from me that make up cables of all types. All they need is the old one as a pattern. I have used them and they are very help full |
