Knock me down with a feather.
This is a true story that will warm the cockles of even the coldest heart…
Regular readers will know that so far the boat has only travelled vertically with the tide, due to a distinct lack of a motor.
See the blog at www.aboatformypotplants.blogspot.com
I still can't believe what's happened!

Hmmm. Sorry folks - I've just realised that I'm gatecrashing, and here under false pretenses, now that I've discovered my boat's actually a Teal and not a Norman or Callumcraft. Can't I just pretend it's a Norman? It's nice here. And besides, I don't think there IS a Teal Boats Appreciation Society.

Hi All As an elegant a solution perhaps the boat could be changed by depoll for a Norman 26.5. When buying parts from my local dealer I describe my boat as a freeman 23 mark 1 Pete

Half of us here no longer have normans anyway, some never did (I won't mention names, except Deano who deserves naming and shaming), it seems yet another missing link in the norman line has emerged (other than me).

Back On topic - Neil what motor are you gonna fit on the Teal - I've seen the pics where you were pushed back to yr mooring (Yes I've looked at yr Blog ) Think you will need maybe at least a 20 to enjoy it ?
Although others have used less...
Any Plans ?

thanks for looking at the pics of my ... TEAL! I had previously been advised to get a 10hp 4-stroke, but now I'm beginning to think that 10 may not be enough to go against the tide. Basically, would like to go from Wivenhoe down river to Alresford Creek (about a mile) and back - but if I felt confident enough Id also like to go as far as Brightlingsea (5 miles) one day. My budget is £1000, so not quite sure what I can get for that, and I need to budget for fitting and connecting up to things on the boat that still need renovating or renewing.
There's always something to do!
