I've recently acquired a Norman 27, "Hunky 'B'" and am currently carrying out various jobs. One which I plan to do is to remove each of the windows and replace the rubber seals which are life expired. It looks are though they are attached through the cabin sides into aluminium trip channel inside the cabin - is this the case. When refiiting, I'll be resealing the refurbished frames using the same sealant used on caravan windows.
Any information and details of the rubber profiles I'll need would be much appreciated.
I am fully overhauling the windows on my 32 I tried different samples but the problem I have is the channels are 9mm with a lip at the top. So the best rubber I find is the flock lined flat, but it has to be trimmed both sides to make it fit. Also my windows are fixed with pop rivets which don't seem very good to me. So I have bought 4mm stainless socket head countersink bolts and dome head nuts and bolted them right through. These bolts can also be used for joining the 2 halves of window by re tapping where the brass screws would not come out
