Further to my Norman 17 restoration here http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056217528&page=14

I had to take out the old side keels as the grp had delaminated and they were rotten. I will soon be refitting them and will need to glass them in.

I am using EPOXY resin and so far for repairs etc, I have been using woven coving which is compatible. But when it comes to tight cornering and wrapping around timber etc, I am wondering what glass cloth to use? I can't use chopped strand matt as it's coated for polyester, the woven coving seems a bit heavy to go around tight corners so I am wondering what to use?

See if you can get a bi-axial cloth, it drapes and wets out very well and it's cheaper than roving as well.

Thanks Clive,

The only place I can find biaxial is CFS in UK. The smallest applicable amount they sell was costing £37 quid, then I got to the checkout where they wanted £28 for delivery. After you convert it all into Euros, it's just too much for the job in hand.

Does anyone know where I can get a bit of biaxial cloth, where shipping to Ireland is "reasonable" etc?

Many thanks

Have a look on here: http://www.ecfibreglasssupplies.co.uk/c-356-cloth-fabric-tapes.aspx

A lot of us use them.

Again they want £20 to deliver 3 meters of glass to me. I just cannot justify that extra cost. I even emailed them and asked i fthey could royal mail it, no luck. I think I'll make do with my woven coving 280g. I'll try and cut it at 45 degrees. I'll layer it in opposing directions. Might make the entire patch before applying it.
