Hi all

Just a quick one, more curiosity than anything. I'm just wondering is the hull of my Norman 17 a double skin or single skin and if it is a double skin what kind of space there is in between the two skins and is this space prone to filling up with water?

Thank you

from the experience of my 17 the hull is single skin with a layer of wood and a grp floor on top.yes water does get under the floor and rots the wood.I found that the water can get in from the rear of the boat if you havnt a canopy.this gets in through the locker lids and and travels under the floor both front and back.also water will get in through window seals and deck fittings (Im still finding places)the gap between the floor and the hull is about 2"

if a hammer wont fix it,it must be electrical.

Thanks for the reply lord john. That's good to know, saves me getting the drill out to "investigate"!
