hi have a hood on ebay for sale, its of a norman 20 but I think it is made for one with a pilot house (so I have been told)it may be of some use to a member.

"Sheenajay" (norman 20) had her first sea trials last week after a refit, well pleased, the 60hp tohatsu got her on the plain easy with plenty to spare, why are these not a more popular sea boat?????? any one know??

They have been tarred with the "canal boat" brush because of their bigger siblings which are generally sold as canal boats although the 23 is reputed to do fairly well at sea as well.

I like the 20's (I've got 2) and they do perform very well at sea in some pretty crap weather too. My earlier one I had fitted with an Enfield and a 1600 cross-flow and fixed trim-tabs and it planed a treat even with a grp dinghy hanging off davits on the back and 4 adults in the cockpit. It was used as transport on a fairly regular basis from Bembridge Haven (Isle of Wight) across to Langstone irrespective of weather which ought to tell you something.

However, a word of caution here - their performance is based on the combination of a deep V planing hull with a deep flared foot and plenty of power. Lose the power and you could be in trouble, likewise using one with an underpowered engine will present handling difficulties.

The cost of boating is insignificant compared to costs of a young wife and two teenage kids!

hi bodybag
does the canopy fit the boat in the picture from the windscreen top to the transom ? I am asking as the pics you sent me only showed the pilot house which we do not need. if this fits from the windscree top to the rear of the boat then I can use it on my boat as we have to build a screen and this can be made to fit.

Sorry to muck you around but I missunderstood the last bit of info.

best regards Sonny
