Hi Guys,
I have been offered a great opportunity to buy a job lot of used flexible solar panels, they are the 10 watt spectra ones.
They have been glued on the top of trailers to power batteries for remote tracking systems so although are in perfect working order have a glue bead on the back and a few superficial marks to the surface.
They look to be good value at around £30 each, new ones are around £100 but with best will in the world I am not going to get 100 on my 20, I am just putting out feelers to see if there is any interest from anyone else before I decide what to do.
Thanks
Chris |

I would be seriously interested in one, possibly two. I have a large, slightly curved hardtop just begging for some flush mount solar pannels.

Spectra solar panels are robustly constructed on a fibreglass substrate with a scratch proof clear Tedlar superstrate. • They are very slimline and lightweight and have no metal outer components to make contact with the surface to which they are fitted. • The efficient and stable polycrystalline cells are encapsulated between the 2 tough outer layers so the whole panel is weatherproof and carries a limited 2 year warranty. • The sealed junction box which also houses the blocking diode has 3m of output cable. • The panels can be gently flexed to follow a smooth curve such as a coach roof by up to 1cm per 30cm along the length of the panel. • Each panel has 4 grommet finished holes for fixing. • A built in diode prevents current from flowing back from the battery to the solar panel in darkness so Spectra panels can be connected directly to the battery. • Electrical connection is simple and the use of a solar regulator is recommended to prevent overcharge if the system is to be left unattended for long periods or the solar panel to battery ratio exceeds the minimum of 10W to 100Ah.
Usually retail at about £99

Buy the lot, sell as many on here and other botie forums as you can. Then put what's left on eBay.
I fact, I would be interested in as many as you can get for that price....

Thanks to every one for their feedback and interest, this is too good an opportunity to miss so I am going to take a deep a breathe and commit to the volume needed to get them at the price. I will get some postage costs and come up with a way of gathering postal addresses and a payment method.
If it it doesn't work out I can always make a shelter of the surplus panels because I certainly won't be living indoors for awhile.

Keep you posted as to progress.
