On the sender is a central connection wired direct to the variable reostat, and on the gauge several connections. It may be easier if I could either email you a copy of the diagram as I do not know how to upload it on this site.

Many thanks for your help in sorting out the wiring. All appears clear now, so will have to wait until the weekend to instal. Once again many thanks.
