If going for an eberspecher, try your local truck breaker. Definately cheaper than new!

But 24 volt, the laptop adaptor trick doesn't seem to work with eberspachers as well as my old webasto did, it's not a cheap job to convert to 12 volt so you'd need an extra battery inline.

I am also considering a small coal fire.
I dont mean this in a funny way but there are a lot of people who talk about the negatives of multifuel stoves and have never used one themselves.
People even use them in Yurts that are made from canvas!
Its dry heat and wont cause condensation to the extent claimed.
Gas fires are the worse for condensation.
I have two friends who have lived on GRP boats and both had coal fires used with total safety.
If its installed properly and all safety precautions are observed you will be fine.
Make sure you use a cast iron collar though.
Have two CO2 alarms plenty of vents and dont close vents up completely when banking up for the night.

Ive lived in a motorhome and thats the same size as a 23 footer and had plenty of space.
Again is the person saying its too small watching tv from 8 foot away in their front room!

Its a bit like saying dont drive that thing with four wheels at 80mph as it has gallons of petrol in it that effectively makes it the same as any bomb.
Its safe so long as its installed properly.
