if its any consolation Dave Ive got to have a new canopy and a survey for the insurance and now its been lifted out at Buckden it seems that I need a new keel as well as the river is so shallow on my mooring that the bottom has grounded and worn through the fibreglass.

be a nice present if the EA dredged the river but they cant even afford to fix the bloody lock

now iv'e cheered myself up Grr.

That'll learn you for having too many engines, Dave.

and cheap boaty bits

You must be joking Sonny, I just priced up for an oil change on mine, £50 for 5 litres of gear oil, £60 for 25 litres of engine oil, around £35 for 2 oil filters, that's without going for the genuine volvo stuff just matching API/ACEA specs, it's all fully synthetic stuff.
Still cheaper than engine parts though so may as well go for the right stuff.
Then there's 4 fuel filters and 2 air filters.....
