Hi everyone in Norman land.
Can anyone tell me the bset type of paint to use on my Norman 23 for the deck, ie, bit you walk round and at the front? The idiot I bought ther boat from has painted it in Wilkinsons non drip household gloss paint, which needless to say is all coming off and looks very tatty, plus top part of boat has been painted in horiable white.
Cheers
Mike

Many thanks to Sonny for the kind offer of a mooring spot, we are now past offord bridge and moored at brampton till friday, took best part of half hour to empty st.neots lock as the interlocks are playing up and vee gates leak like feck, got to offord to see the levels had come back up since lunchtime and just squeezed through so probably a good move, also thanks to Graham (ex silver link) for the use of his mooring.
Just need to get past st.ives now and hope for calm weather next week....

Local info (the security grunt on the lock) suggests it may be open on Monday????

Thanks Sonny, I take it you live local then.
If the SSA comes off and the locks open before the closure I'll give you a bell.

Hi Dave
We can squeeze you in anytime

Give me a ring on 488069 to let me know when and I shall have the place unlocked and ready.

Hey Sonny do you recon a 31' boat could squeeze in where you moor for a few days? I'm hoping the SSA will come off in the next few days and want a head start next friday for the next attempt at the broad run but st.neots lock will be shut again for cock up ongoing maintenence, I'm looking for somewhere the other side to leave it a few days.

Adi-not-chez

Many thanks for the info. One further question is roughly how much of the material you used, say, per meter?

Regards, Stan

Trevork

Protecktakote sounds ideal except the reference to the use of Xylene - isn't this stuff pretty lethal?

I use normal boat enamel , with a addition of Cenospheres (Hollow glas microspheres) available as blakes antislip granules or free from work !!!

laugh my arse off, just realised what I put, should have been Deck Paint, not Deck Pain
Sonny Posted - 09 May 2012 : 23:08:21
try kneeling on the deck all day putting window seals in a 23, that's what I call deck pain!

Yes unfortunately it has been painted before, but not sure what sort of paint, if the rest of the boat is anything to go by, probably household emulsion, some people shouldn’t be let loose with paint or any DIY, make it look worse!!
Cheers
