Another question please is there another name for Butterfly Valve
ive tried lots of dealers but no one seems to know what they are

lets hope the problem is not the idle/slow running jet then, as you might end up bolting a ex navy harrier jet on the back end! Now there is an idea. lol. hope your problems solved.

sorry about the misinformation' but as I should have said it was
a Yamaha out'board engine and my budding mechanic is trying to sort
out a problem of a revving engine it just does'nt drop back to the
idling part and as I do'nt know a thing about engine's I now have
what I believe is the problem as some one answered my first request.
'the butterfly valve' I hope.

Try this, suprised any dealer that services outboards don't know what it is. If you look at the link under BASICS it is another name for a throttle valve.
