I know it's the time of the year, and Covid lockdown, but I'm wondering looking at the number of members on this forum,is anyone doing anything with their boats?I am stuck at home bored out of my tree, apart from an odd visit to the boat to check the mooring and look for any water ingress.I think this is allowed by the guidlines to check that the boat is not causing a danger to anyone. As long as social distancing is maintained then I think this is ok.
Last visit turned the heater on,opened the windows and ran the engine for a bit,and made a cup of coffee, and everything seemed fine.
Anyone doing anything interesting?

My boat is 90 miles away so pretty much scuppered but I'm due a delivery/collection job that way this week sometime so got a neww bilge pump to pop in and fit while passing, when I left it just before xmas I found one of the pumps not working but didn't have time to look any further then got locked down.
As soon as I heard we had an engine going to norfolk I got in quick and said "send me! Me! ME ME ME!", it's about 30 minutes off track but I know I can take a wrong turn.... And I'm not likely to see anyone at the boat yard anyway other than a distant thumbs up to the office window.

I suppose I am lucky in that I live about 15 minutes away from my mooring by car.
It's also quite cheap (£60-27 per month for a Norman 20) and has the usual facilities, sani station, showers, laundry (well a washing machine) coal, gas, and diesel plus a chandlery and engineering.
The drawback for me is it's where the Huddersfield Narrow becomes the Huddersfield Broad and the Narrow has been closed here for most of last year due to substantial leakage an the first pound. You can get through by giving CRT 24 hours notice and they will run some water down and unchain lock 1 for you.But as I do quite a few day trips along the Narrow,I don't think I will be very popular asking to run water down and unlock twice a day.
The Broad is a most boring canal unless you like looking at mud, grass and trees, and with a slow lift bridge and 9 broad locks it's nearly a day's boating to get to the Calder to actually go anywhere.
Anyway,I think I have done enough moaning for the moment.
Hope everyone is keeping safe.9

We're 90 minutes away and we've just had to pay the mooring fees of a boat we're not allowed to visit. Grumpy....

We've also got a week on the Somerset coast booked for Easter, which is looking somewhat in the balance. I'll be double grumpy if that can't go ahead.

My 20 has been sitting on the trailer on my drive for nearly a year now and I see it every time I look out of my window. The slipway onto the river Severn at Stourport is only 12 miles away but so far out of reach it might as well be on the moon, but at least I'm not having to pay moorings and license etc and there's no chance of it sinking while unattended. I think I'm getting stir crazy being stuck in a house after spending most of my life outdoors.
