has anybody cut/modified a norman 17 for more deck space

I would imagine anything grp you cut on a 17 will seriously reduce the structures strength, I have taken the aft cabin off a 25 though but that had a stepped join on the side decks indicating it wasn't structural.
Which bits were you thinking of cutting?
