I was a complete novice when it came to boats, and still am in many ways.  One of the first things I hadn't realised was that 2 stroke outboard engines were very thirsty, and as it wasn't very reliable and needed some work, I decided to buy a 4 stroke outboard, after a few weeks searching the web, I found a suitable second hand engine down in Dartford.

As you'll see in the pictures the interior is a bit basic with lights and a calor gas cooker.  And the Canopy could do with replacing, but they aren't cheap, although the side panels were replaced as I lost one of them in the canal, fortunately a friend of mine works for a company that makes soft play equipment for schools, which they make out of pvc, so he had 2 new side panels made for me, although they didn't have any black pvc, so they are blue.  I also took the opportunity to change the fastenings on the canopy to
turn button type fastening rather than the peg and eye type as some were missing and difficult to unfasten.

I also replaced the fenders as there was some missing and weren't wide enough, especially considering my rather dodgy mooring technique when I first started boating, one of the problems with buying things on the internet, the fenders were a bit too large, but they do the job, although my mooring has improved quite a lot.
