Hi all, hoping you can help with the pricing of my Norman 23 (I believe), I inherited it from an Aunt but due to moving south sadly it has to go, it's on the Lancaster canal, Honda 10hp outboard, it probably could do with a new canopy and a bit of modernising. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Difficult to price it accurately without more details. Is it a sound engine?any service records? current boat safety certificate?what equipment fitted (toilet, cooker, bilge pump, shore power etc) if it needs a new canopy, these cost around £1000. Looking at various boat selling websites, the asking price for these boats is from about £3000 to £5500 for a really nice example. There are others on this forum who will also have an opinion. |

Got rivers and canals down South - and that looks to be a lovely well-loved boat. Why not consider keeping and using it?
Finally living the dream!

It's a 10hp Honda outboard engine (the modern rounded type) that fires up every time even when it's been sat for a few months, the safety cert is about due but I can get this sorted, it has a portable toilet, a twin gas hob and grill, bilge pump, canopy needs a zip repair and would last another couple of years or so. I was thinking around the £3.5k mark

I'm relocating to Cornwall so I'm hoping to get a rib boat once settled, she is well loved.... Time to move it on though |

I think for £3500,it won't be for sale for long. The Forum has a for sale and wanted section, also Apollo Duck do a basic free ad. I would be interested hvaving just had a weeks cruise on my Norman 20 and my back is killing me due to constant stooping in the cabin, but having just got it the way I want it after a years work,I am reluctant to part with it just yet. Next boat will most likely be a Norman 23. Please let us know how you get on with selling it. |

Price it to sell and you may get away with it, it seems the broads brokerages are selling boats fairly well but how long that lasts no-one knows, with current circumstances values are whatever some will pay and will change rapidly as economic conditions change and I doubt any financial advisor can give more than a guess, when I bought my old RLM31 it was just before the credit crunch and despite me getting it for a good price it was worth half as much two months later going by what was on offer at the time. Sell it quick or look to hanging on to it and enjoying it, sorry for not being much use but that is how it is at the moment, no-one really knows.
