Does anyone know the shade of white used on Norman boats. Is there a colour code or shade name? It might help when repairing the Gelcoat.

Never knew there were so many different shades of bloody white did you?? I suspect there is not one definitive shade as such. Even individual models are various shades of white/cream sort of colours. The only suggestion I can make is to get some gel coat tint and experiment with small amounts. Of course superior wisdom to my own may yet to appear on this thread!

I used Davids or Isopon gelcoat filler and sanded then painted with any shade of white.
However, after a time collecting loads of scratches from mooring and narrow locks,I gave up with the sanding and painting and simply used gelcoat filler, getting it as smooth as possible with the spatula, and leaving as is.
The reason being, with my driving, and collecting loads of scratches,I would be sanding and painting every weekend.
Any scratches on the hull were difficult to see anyway,(Norman 20) without crouching down on the towpath.
