Dave may recall some years ago I had fun trying to get a wheel to fit my Norman. This was solved by an excellent engineer who made me a fitting for the steering shaft.
Different issue this time. My Safari has what is more suited to a souped up mini for a wheel. I have found an excellent wooden wheel which I am refurbishing. The only thing missing is the centre boss cap.
What I would really like is something similar to that shown in the fleabay picture linked to.

That wheel you had lurking in your loft doesn't happen to have one does it Dave?? Otherwise, please keep beady eyes open for me. Ta!

No centre cap unforunately, maybe back to the engineer and get him to turn you one.

Engineer is long gone. Must be more than ten years ago.

I used a hub cover , you know grease cap thing from a car wheel hub to cover the centre nut of a wooden wheel. My motto is when you can't source the genuine part look for an alternative !

That would be easily turned out of a piece of brass. The sort of thing I could do on my lathe if I had the time.

I gave in to temptation and bought the one in the photo! He did drastically reduce its price.
