Hi guys

I need to replace the prop on my normal 20, on an Enfield.

Can anyone explain how? It’s out of the water so easy access, but can’t see how to actually release the prop itself?

Any pointers?

Flinty knows all about these but, as I recall, isn't there some sort of cone that spins off revealing a big nut??

Also, if I have your email correct, I have just sent you the PDF manual.

There should be a conical nut with flats on and a tab washer behind between prop and nut, knock the tabs back with a hammer and screwdriver and wedge a lump of wood between prop blade and anti-cavitation plate to stop the prop spinning then use an adjustable spanner on the conical nut to undo, it's a regular rh thread, the prop itself will be on a spline that may need percussive encouragement depending on when it was last removed so use an aluminium based anti seize grease when refitting as copper grease will encourage galvanic corrosion of the prop.
While it's off check the zinc anode that should be behind the prop inside the housing of the leg, best bet is to chuck it away and fit a magnesium pear anode to the top of the anti cavitation plate for inland use as they either come loose and rattle around as they wear away or get overtightened and distort the housing causing oil leaks out and water leaks in, it's a crap system.
