I've only gone and done it Trevor, I've filled in a register form! I suppose you'll be wanting piccies next.

Where is that last pic Dave? I've not been up that way for over 20 years but it looks like the yacht station on the Bure about a couple of miles or so above the old swing bridge. I'll not be going there now that's for sure!
Looking on Google I see the swing bridge is still there, presumably fixed or rusted in place now, so about low to half-tide passage only for you I'm guessing, and someone has stolen the railway the bounders.
It stops by the old yacht station and Harbour Master's office but all that seems to have gone now in favour of a roundabout and new bridge.
At least they haven't land-filled Breydon and turned it into a carpark yet. Give it time I suppose! I used to buy stoneground flour at Berney Arms mill, I bet that's long gone too, probably a sterilised NT money-spinner now.

Finally living the dream!

That is at burgh castle moorings beside goodchild marine (in the background) on the waveney just off breydon water, berney mill is probably just out of shot in the distance. The swing bridges at reedham/somerleyton/oulton are still functioning as are the haven and breydon lifting road bridges, 2 bridges on the bure at yarmouth going north have always been fixed.

| Seeing those boats on the water makes me so jealous I did not go out on my 32 this year and I might have to sell it without ever having a holiday on it. Its been stored in the barn all year. |

Thanks Dave - seeing your pics makes me homesick! Here you must have a licensed captain or be one plus have an engineer to use any motor boat under their anachronistic laws. The effect of course has been to prevent any leisure boating industry ever developing.

Finally living the dream!

Only problem is the engines are coming out next week, followed by the fuel tanks which are full of rust and weeping at the bottom. What fun....

| Thought it was very fitting that the photo of "Snowbird" should be at Sonia's place! |
