Hi, long time since my last Post. Having major challenges trying to get engine started, bleed system numerous times replace lift pump, new filter, fresh fuel. Can get fuel in spurts from inject pipes, connect back injectors and crank over no go. Managed to get a five minute run, but the engine would only Rev to 800 rpm. Suspect injection pump is dead, but I have tried in my local area and no one wants to look at the pump and injectors. Any suggestions? I am near York.
I do have a Citroen 1.9 non- turbo engine in a van we are due to scrap and I think that is the same as the one Dave fitted in one of his boats, is it worth trying that?

Update. Got down to the boat thus morning with a brand new battery. Took the fuel system totally to bits and replaced a couple of pipes. This engine has always been a pig to bleed and I may have found the reason. There is a banjo fitting on the top of the filter and when I took this off ( first time) and the banjo bolt was an attempt by someone. They had used a file to form a groove and attempted to drill a hole, but it didn't go to the hole in the bolt. Drilled a small hole and the system primed a lot better, may need a restricter now as the flow from the new lift pump means the temporary 1 gallon fuel can I am using at the moment is emptied via the return pipe into another tank in less than 2 minutes. At least the engine now runs. Might wait till the winter and get the pump serviced then.

On my engine filters on snowbird I fitted a quick bleed nipple made for brakes with a non return valve in which makes bleeding a doddle, open the top of the nipple and attach oil extractor pump, give it some suction and as soon as the diesel appears in the pipe remove oil extractor and nip up the bleed nipple, as long as the high pressure side was not disturbed it's job done. Sod messing about with fuel pump primer levers for ages just to fill the filters.
