Launch my boat on the Brecon canal Sunday 2nd Sept. Back home Tuesday night. The canal is so shallow I broke 2 blades of the prop. My draught is 27inches to the tip of the sceg on the Enfield leg. Constantly getting stuck going through bridge holes and other places. Any suggestions from any one.

Bob knowles for a prop (£160 I think) and find a deeper waterway, you're not going to make your boat any shallower.
Is it down to lack of rainfall? I don't realy know how the brecon is filled.

Prop no problem just the will to go boating again or sell the boat. The canal was originally dug 4ft.Its not lack of water its lack of dredging. Other boaters complaining as well. When passing hire boats they were getting stuck.

I had same problem on Ashby canal, apparently I twisted my prop after only going a few hundred yards, it was so shallow.
My solution was to raise my long shaft outboard so high the propeller is near the surface, which makes steering harder. Alternately the Canal and River Trust could dredge the canals if they can comprehend some people have outboards.

Don't give up now after all your hard work, there ar loads of places you can take your boat to and have a wonderful time without getting stuck on the bottom and I don't mean Tescos car park on it's trailer.

These people are awesome for prop repairs and not too expensive.

They also do pattern outboard props with easily replaceable centre drive bosses so when your rubbers give up and the prop slips on the boss they are much cheaper to replace than the original.

Finally living the dream!

Most rivers are much prettier than canals and deeper, cheaper licence too and not as many locks, then there's the broads with only one lock and that's only if you want to go into lowestoft harbour.

After all that work Bob it really is worth considering another more practical cruising area. Even if it means a bit of a travel. If this happens to be a distance from home it just makes each visit that bit more special. Your 32 would do well on the Broads or the Great Ouse (that's not the proper Ouse I hasten to add which is also worth a thought as well)

Gt.Ouse has it's share of shallow spots these days but nothing that bad unless you are unlucky enough to find something thats been dropped in (Deano did).
Broads is pretty much all good depth but I have stirred the bottom a few times usually on a low water spring tide but only on the ends of the offshoots, nothing to take damage though.

I am thinking of making a claim. Any suggestions welcome. A claim against the CRT because there is no where it states the depth of the canal. In fact it says 4 ft

If it's just the prop it's not worth putting your premium up, I doubt your insurance company will get anything back from CaRT.

Thanks for the offer of a week on the Thames. I am hoping to travel many water ways possibly starting with the Llangollen next year. and just keep on cruising so I might end up on the Thames. If it works out I will be posting my position on here so if any one wants to meet up and say hello they will be welcome.
